Description:

This course is designed to enable learners to maintain, prepare and operate a manually fed wood-chipper.

Suitable for:

Anyone that wants to learn how to operate a manually fed wood-chipper to dispose of brash, and timber upto a diameter of the capacity of the machine being used.

Pre-requisites:

None

Duration:

1 day of training and 1 day of assessments

Times:

9am - 5pm (approx)

Learning Outcomes:

  •  Be able to carry out a hazard and risk assessment on site

  • Be familiar with the use of the machine, its safety features and maintenance

  • Be aware of the various cutting mechanisms available and the procedure of changing the cutting mechanism on the machine being used

  • Positioning the machine into the correct work position

  • Operate machine to process material

 Equipment Required:

  • Waterproof clothing

  • Steal toe cap boots

  • Helmet with ear defenders and visor

Costs:

The total cost of the course is £260 + VAT this includes registration and assessment fees

Notes:

During the course candidates will need to provide their own packed lunches unless they have been previously ordered from the local pub
